The Rich Man & The Beggar
Father: What a nice girl she is!
Glory be to the father and to the son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be the world without end.
Father: Hello kids, what are you doing? Munching something?
Father: I saw your Margret you nice girl giving a breadcrumb to the beggar.
Father: I am reminded of the story Jesus told when I looked at Margret,
Joseph: Oh Father, Please will you tell us the story, we are very eager.
Peter: Yes father.
Father: Ok… Hmmm…
Father: There was a certain rich man who was clothed in rich silks and fine linen. He feasted on costly food each day. There was also a poor beggar, who was ragged and hungry. His body was fully covered with sores. His name was Lazarus. They laid him at the rich man’s gate, for he desired to be fed with the crump which fell from the well supplied table. Even the dogs had pity on him, for they came and licked his sores. One day the beggar died, the angels carried him to heaven, he was no longer clothed in rags, but in a glorious array. He was clean, he was not hungry.
He sat with Abraham and leaned upon his bosom.
The rich man also died, but he went to a place of torment.
He slowly lifted his eyes, he saw Abraham with Lazarus on his bosom, and he recognized him to be the beggar at his gate.
RM: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I’m tormented in these flames.
Abraham: Son, remember, you in your lifetime received many good things, while Lazarus had only evil things, so and now he is comforted but you are tormented. Besides, there is a great valley between us and you.
RM: Father, I pray please would you allow Lazarus to my house, for I have five brothers. Let Lazarus testify so that my brothers may repent and that they may now come to torment.
Abraham: They have Moses and the prophets, Let them hear them.
RM: No Father, but if one goes from the dead, they will repent…
Abraham: If they don’t hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they hear one rising from the dead.
Father: Are you there, what you gotta tell me huh?
Father: Oh my God, these kids are the future, bless them abundantly my Lord.
